This illustration is fantastic. Not only do I love mermaids, but I've seen this artist's work before I love all that she does. I also secretly want to be a mermaid...how cool would that be?!

The big 91

My grandma turns 91 today, but she's telling people now that she hit 90, she's actually going to start counting down. So I guess I should say she is turning 89. She is an amazing woman and I am so inspired and proud to call her my grandmother. I love her so much. Look how cute she is!

"Schwinntastic"

I was lucky enough to get my hands on my grandma's old Schwinn Collegiate 5 speed today and let me tell you, I am extremely excited about this! The tires and rims are in rough shape, but everything else seems to be pretty functional. My dad seems quite interested in helping me restore it to a rideable state, which is fantastic because I don't know diddly squat about bikes. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Summer List

I've been seeing a few bloggers posting about their wish lists for the summer, and I gotta say, it's fun and cute! I figure it is a fun way to set some goals for the season before it gets away from us (which it always seems to do...how is it june already?!) So here's mine.

1. go swimming as often as possible.
2. go for a bike ride or hike at least a few times a week.
3. preserve some of the tons of tomatoes I am growing.
4. get a fun new hair cut.
5. make lots and lots of yummy ice cream.
6. go camping!
7. use my film cameras more.
8. treat myself to a pedicure.
9. consume as much fresh fruit and vegetables as possible.
10. dress up more just for the heck of it.

On the Subject

Speaking of themes, how cute is this lighthouse water carafe? I love how simple it is.

In Danger

I think I might be in danger of becoming one of those crazy theme people but this skirt is just too adorable! I love the vintage vibe it seems to be giving off.
