Snow...snooow.

So as expected, there's still a great deal of snow on the ground. But since its Ohio, the snow has begun to look a little yucky. I loooove snow, but I'm starting to get the itch to wear something other than lots of layers and big puffy coats. Here's a lovely picture I took on a post thanksgiving hike while visiting my brother in Montana.

Bestest Best

Cars Are Expensive

Well, as you all can agree, cars are way too expensive. I sent my car in today for a regular oil change (which I normally do myself) and the dealership called me with a list of things that should prolly be taken care of before too long. So instead of making more trips 50 minutes out of my way, I just said go ahead and get it all over with. And let me tell you...it was NOT cheap. But to brighten my day, check out these adorable pins found on etsy! So cute!

Wayne

These breathtaking photos by Wayne Levin are so striking to me. As I said in a recent post, I've been really itching to get out in the water...I'm even dreaming about it! These images are so beautiful and almost a little eerie with their lack of color. I love the black and white take on something that is usually so full of color (the ocean), it really encourages you to look at the simple and beautiful patterns that make up our oceans.

Must Have

So I pretty much have to have these message-in-a-cookie cutters from Williams-Sonoma. Aren't they adorable?!?! They're being added to the list of things I don't need but must have right away.

Doesn't this photo make you long for spring? I'm missing green. I took this shot some time ago and found it on a disc last night. Anyone starting to get a little tired of gray and white? I could really go for some color.

Just Think Warm Thoughts

With all this recent snow (which I still love) I'm feeling the desire even more strongly to go on a vacation. Of course I can not afford said vacation, so instead, I am taking a mini holiday by taking a gander at these lovely photos of a past visit to the Cayman Islands. We are scuba divers and growing up, both of my parents were scuba instructors, and usually once a year they went on scuba trips to fabulous tropical places. When we got old enough to join in the fun, my brother and I became a part of these annual trips. Sadly it's been a few years since we've gone on one, but lately I've been feeling the itch to get in the water and feel the sun on my face. I'll just have to pretend for now!

Snowmageddon

The dreaded "white death" as we were calling it hit ohio something fierce yesterday. And aside from some dicey driving home from work yesterday afternoon, I couldn't be happier!! After it finally stopped snowing late this morning, we measured 15 inches in our back yard. And let me just tell you, the suns out right now, and it truly looks like a winter wonderland out there!

These Boots are Made for Walking

A few months back, I discovered the awesomeness that is Gilt Group, a shopping site devoted to featuring sales on higher fashion items. The sales only run a few days and just about every day there are new sales. I got these lovely little things from Gilt Fuse, which is a part of gilt group that offers less expensive items. They are AWESOME!!! The site is a great eye opener to a lot of pieces that normally would not be attainable to those of us who don't really have any money. The boots are Seychelles Madamoiselles and I am in love!

Bath Time

This porthole bathtub is fabulous!!! I'm not much of a bath person, but if I had this puppy, I'm pretty sure thats all I would look forward to! I could sit in this fantastic tub sipping some perfectly steeped hot tea. Aahhh, such luxury.

Sunday Brunch

I've never been much of a breakfast person, a cup of coffee is enough for me...but I have this bad habit of helping myself to sorbet or something sweet soon after rolling out of bed. But there's just nothing quite like enjoying a delicious cup of coffee out of my fantastic new mustache mug and a few spoonfuls of Jeni's cherry lambic sorbet.
